Valdis began his career as a project manager in Hansabanka (now Swedbank) in ’96, responsible for IT projects in the banking core system area, working with the software vendor “Kindle Banking Systems.”
In ’00, Valdis transitioned to the Head of Service Management Department’s role, managing 30 employee team to ensure agreed level of IT services in following areas: Electronic Channels; Payment Cards; Core Banking; ERP; Loans and Deposits. Responsible for the IT Change Management process in Latvia.
In ’07, Valdis was promoted to the CIO role, responsible for IT systems, business continuity and product development for Swedbank in Latvia.
In ’10, Valdis joined Tilde Latvia as a Project Director, responsible for ensuring the development of the company’s project portfolio, finding new project partners, and optimizing the company’s internal processes.
In ’16, Valdis joined Expobank as the Head of IS Division, managing and supervising the operation of the Bank’s information systems and planning their development in order to ensure the effective and secure use of the information systems and lead the IS Division staff.
At the same time, Valdis also served as a guest lecturer for Master’s students in Turiba University.
Valdis joined D8 Corporation in ’22, as a Head of Product Portfolio at first and in ’23 transitioned to the COO role. Valdis also serves as a Member of the Board at OAK (Organization Development Knowledge) – a professional association, created with a vision to collect and disseminate good management practices, create organizational development tools and methods, and encourage the exchange of experience and knowledge.
